Mercury Marine, a longtime leader in freshwater fishing, wanted to boost its saltwater share. It had the right engine for the job – the 150 FourStroke, a new product – but needed the right push behind it. GS created a multifaceted, regional campaign touting the saltwater-specific benefits of the new engine and the overall benefit of Mercury ownership: personalized support, for a best-in-class boating experience. That benefit was brought to life through a new “Mercury Marine Advisor” service. Available in key saltwater fishing destinations, the service offered free advice from trained professionals on questions related to boating and fishing.
