Bulletin: The House is Open!

A reception on April 21 will give clients, vendors, and friends the opportunity to check out GS Design's newly renovated headquarters and mingle with the newest members of the crew (as well as the old).

First-time visitors to GS Design tend to ask one question more than any other. And it's not, "How do you keep employees away from your fully stocked bar all day?" (though that's a close second). Rather, it has to do with all the motorcycles at GS - tucked under staircases, backed into corners, seemingly parked in every nook and cranny imaginable.

"Whose are they, and why are they here?"

The answer: They belong to GS clients and employees - and they're here because we love them. (The motorcycles, that is - we love the clients and employees on a case-by-case basis.) It's no coincidence that many GS employees ride - Harley-Davidson and Buell have long been an important part of our client base. And offering up free winter storage space is a win-win situation.

"The motorcycle owners like having their bikes stored indoors where they can get at them for wrenching, accessorizing or detailing. And talk about adding visual excitement to an office environment ... it's very inspiring," says Marc Tebon, GS Principal (and motorcycle addict).

FEATURED PROJECT: A Tall Order

It's not every day a new 33-story luxury condominium tower opens its doors here in Milwaukee. But when Kilbourn Tower completed its first on-location condo model, the tower's developer - Fiduciary Real Estate Development, Inc. - asked GS to begin phase two of our marketing initiative, helping them let the world know they were ready for potential buyers to check out the space first-hand.

"Kilbourn Tower was offering something none of its competitors could yet offer," says Steve Radtke, Creative Director. "And that's an actual furnished model in the building. So we touted 'immediate seating' at the condo with an ad emphasizing that buyers would soon be able to move in to their dream living environment."

FEATURED PROJECT: A Season of Change

Previously, if any of Pleasant Prairie's residents wanted to learn more about Village services or perhaps apply for an area job, they had to physically visit Village Hall and request the information in person. Now, thanks to the highly interactive, multi-faceted Web site created by GS Design, all residents need to do is enter a URL into their browser.

Pleasant Prairie hired GS to build a comprehensive Web site, both easy to navigate and information-laden. Not only did we do just that, we created style sheets so the color scheme, images, and header would change with the season ... automatically.

"Our residents have expressed how innovative the Web site is," says Ruth Otto, Pleasant Prairie's Director of IT, "GS Design's creativeness can be fully credited for inspiring us to publish a site that fits our village so well."

A village on the rise, Pleasant Prairie consistently attracts more visitors every year, so GS made sure the site works as much for them as it does for residents. No matter who you are or what your pleasure, PleasantPrairieOnline.com will take you where you want to go.

More People, More People!

GS seems to be adding to its crew on a monthly basis, snagging a designer here, a Web developer there. This month, we're excited to announce the arrival of ...

MARK BRAUTIGAM
Mark joins GS from CYD Design, where he worked as a designer for more than two years. His unique eye and uncanny sense of good design is a perfect complement to the GS team. And it doesn't hurt that he has a passion for photography either.

JEFFREY SCHRAB
Jeffrey formerly worked for Wheaton-Franciscan System, Inc., where he was responsible for system-wide Internet and Intranet sites (about 18 in all). Not only is he the second Jeff to work at GS, he's also the second Schrab - his younger brother Steve works in our Web department, too.
