An application developer at GS design is responsible for more than crafting quality code. A candidate must have a passion for creating cutting edge solutions that impress the heck out of our peers, our clients, and of course the end user.

Responsibilities:

• This position is responsible for all aspects of application design, development and maintenance, including requirements gathering, technical design, programming, quality assurance testing, documentation, and deployment.
• Understand the benefits of the various design methodologies and object-oriented environments.
• Communicate effectively with fellow team members to identify project needs and evaluate smart, efficient and scalable programming solutions.
• Research technology trends, programming languages and other relevant areas for company and personal growth.
• Understand browser and operating system compatibility issues.
• Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.

Qualifications:

• Experience with most Web application development languages: PHP, ASP, JSP, Java, and Ruby, as well as relational databases: MySQL, MS SQL Server.
• Practice developing custom admin tools, database applications, roles, and security.
• Practice integrating third party solutions (Drupal, WordPress, MovableType, etc.)
• Familiarity with bug tracking and version control systems.
• Knowledge of best practices for debugging, as well as a mind for logic and algorithmic programming.
• Awareness of front-end development technologies: HTML, CSS, XML, Javascript, Ajax, Flash Actionscript.
