Potawatomi Bingo Casino - Reaching New Heights

by Andrea Rech on August 2, 2012

Potawatomi Hotel Ground Breaking CeremonyWe’re proud to say that we’ve been working with Potawatomi Bingo Casino on a number of projects since the beginning of the year. And we were fortunate enough to be included among the invited guests at the groundbreaking/ground blessing ceremony for their hotel slated to open in 2014.

The 3-1/2 star hotel will add 230 full-time jobs to the 2,500 existing at the casino. In addition, it’s expected to generate nearly $10 million per year in revenue for the City and County of Milwaukee.

Since opening Potawatomi Bingo Casino more than two decades ago, Potawatomi has shown a continued commitment to the community in which they operate, from contributing to the development of the Menomonee Valley to their vast philanthropic efforts to the many families they support as such a large, caring employer. The addition of this hotel will strengthen the long-term sustainability of the casino.

We wish Potawatomi Bingo Casino much luck with the development of the hotel and look forward to a lasting partnership.

SRAM pART PROJECT Recap

by Andrea Rech on January 5, 2012

SRAM pART PROJECT photo

The yearlong project GS has been working on for SRAM called the pART PROJECT has come to a successful close.

GS helped SRAM find artists from around the country to participate. We sent them 100 random SRAM parts and challenged them with making a sculpture incorporating some of the parts.

The project culminated with a fundraising event in Chicago in coordination with an online auction of the sculptures. The event and auction benefitted World Bicycle Relief – a charity founded by SRAM Corporation that distributes bicycles to people in need around the world.

The event and auction were extremely successful, raising approximately $120,000 for World Bicycle Relief and garnering press coverage to boost awareness of the organization. Translating dollars into meaning, $120,000 equates to 895 additional bikes in the field and 4,475 lives affected.

SRAM’s pART PROJECT was an inspiring project to be associated with, and GS is very proud to be a part of its success.

SRAM Art Auction & Fundraising Event

by Andrea Rech on November 17, 2011

GS has been working all year on a really great project for SRAM called the pART PROJECT. We helped SRAM find artists from all around the country to participate. We sent them a box of 100 random SRAM parts and challenged them with making a piece of art incorporating some of the parts.

The artwork is complete and is ready to be sold in an online auction starting Sunday, November 20. All proceeds from the online auction will be donated to World Bicycle Relief - a charity founded by SRAM Corporation that has distributed more than 75,000 bicycles to people in need and trained more than 700 field mechanics all around the world since opening their doors in 2005.

SRAM and World Bicycle Relief are also hosting the grand finale of the SRAM pART PROJECT: A gala pART PROJECT exhibition and auction at Chicago’s Gallery 1028. Event attendees will join leading figures in the cycling world in viewing the artwork, meeting the artists, and bidding on favorite pieces all while enjoying food, drink, and live entertainment.

Best of all, simply by attending, they'll be directly supporting the mission of World Bicycle Relief. The $134 admission fee is the cost for World Bicycle Relief to donate one bicycle.

Check out the pART PROJECT website to participate in the online auction or to register to attend the event.

SRAM pART PROJECT

by Andrea Rech on July 15, 2011

GS is working on an awesome project for SRAM right now. The coolest brand in cycling has asked us to help create and manage a bike art competition.

We're selecting 50 artists from around the country to participate and sending them a box of 100 SRAM bike parts. The artists are creating free-standing sculptures using at least 25% of the parts.

The completed art will be on display at the Interbike convention in Las Vegas in September, on display at an exhibition in Chicago in October, and finally auctioned off online in November. All proceeds of the sale of the art will benefit the World Bicycle Relief - a charity founded by SRAM Corporation that has distributed over 75,000 bicycles to people need and trained over 700 field mechanics all around the world since opening their doors in 2005.

The artists are working on their pieces now. Stay tuned to the pART PROJECT website for ongoing updates - soon we'll add artist bios and eventually photos of the art.

Don't forget to check out the World Bicycle Relief website and make a donation if you can. Bikes really do change lives and donating to World Bicycle Relief is one way you can make a major impact. Giving away one bike only costs $134. C'mon...you can do that!

GS Launches Two New Brands

by Andrea Rech on March 8, 2010

With the entire U.S. talking about ways to curtail increasing healthcare costs, GS was extremely excited to partner with one of the leading change makers in the industry.

Headquartered in Milwaukee’s Third Ward, Dohmen is a 150-year-old company that throughout its lengthy history has remained committed to its vision of improving the wellbeing of our communities by creating a more efficient, affordable, and accessible healthcare supply system.

Dohmen is the parent company of three companies that execute its vision daily by reducing costs within the healthcare supply system. GS recently completed a comprehensive rebranding project for Dohmen and its philanthropic arm Dohmen Company Foundation. We are also fortunate to be involved with all of Dohmen’s subsidiaries: DDN (rebranding completed 2008), Restat (rebranding in progress), and DDN Medical Affairs (new brand created in 2009).

The challenge with the Dohmen and Dohmen Company Foundation projects was to find a way to tell the story of the Dohmen vision that captures the conviction, passion, and altruism that our client brings to her businesses every day.

Our rebranding project for Dohmen included message development, logo development, corporate identity, and Web design and development.
